Blessings 365: Day 226: Sweet Sixteen

My sweet Melissa turned 16 on August 14th.

What fun it was to completely surprise her!!!

We started with a mother/daughter lunch with Denise and Rylee!

Denise brought balloons and confetti....which she threw on the table as we yelled "Surprise!"  I said to Melissa, "There, I DID throw you a surprise party!"

But the reality was that while we were eating lunch the REAL surprise party was being prepared!!  My mom sent over decorations from America.  Jenna, Esther, and all the other kids were busy decorating the Beck's house, making cake, and getting a fun game ready to surprise the birthday girl!

So did we surprise her??

YES!!

So much so that she cried!

Awesome decorations!  Thanks, mom, for sending them!  And to Jenna and Laura for risking their lives hanging streamers from the ceiling!

Dylann and the little kids designed this amazing birthday throne!

Carson and Dylann planned a FUN game: a Just Dance dance off!

Then it was time for gifts!

She got lots of fun gifts...a photography book, a coffee mug, candy, fabric, a cool t-shirt, and the camera she's been wanting for about 3 years!

We TOTALLY surprised her with the camera!!  What fun!

We are so thankful for Melissa....what a blessing she is to our family!  It was such fun to surprise her and remind her of how special she is!
