Blessings 365: Day 192: Getting fuel during a fuel shortage

We live in a smallish town in Northern Uganda.  The fuel trucks have to drive from Mombasa, Kenya all the way to us to deliver fuel.  Sometimes they just don't make it here...I don't know why??  Where does the fuel shortage begin?? Not sure...but it ends here (or at least AFFECTS us here!  lol).

In July we had a fuel shortage!  Only one gas station in town had gas (they call it petrol here).  Scott went to get some gas and saw this:

Around 100 bodas (motorcycle taxis) waiting to get petrol.  Scott waited for around an hour and got some gas in our car....but we quickly realized that we needed fuel for our generator, too (power is only on, consistently, 2-3 days a week, so our generator is pretty important to us!)  Scott called our Ugandan friend, James, and asked him to take our jerry can up and fill it for us, because the bodas were blocking the entrance to the station by this point.

James was able to pay someone to take our jerry can up to the front of the line and fill it for us...something we would NEVER have been able to do!!  Thank you!!!
