The last Wednesday in July we had both a hello and a goodbye.
We said, "Hello" to this little cutie. Her name is Marianna. She has since gone down to Kampala to get more specialized treatment there, but it was an honor to get to hold her and speak sweetly to her on her first day at Watoto...reminding her that she's a special gift from God and He is always watching over her.
From the first day we got to Watoto, Annie (in particular) has LOVED a baby named Lonah. Every time we go to Watoto, Annie feeds Lonah, plays with her, carries her around....Lonah is her baby.
A couple of weeks ago (in July), the mamas at Watoto "warned" us that Lonah was leaving soon. She was going to be resettled back with family members. Of course, that's what we want for all the children. It's the best thing for them. But Lonah? Annie's Lonah? oh dear....
I was crazy about taking pictures of Annie and Lonah each day we were able to spend with her:
Actually saying "good bye" to Lonah was one of the hardest things we've done in Uganda. We took her off into a corner and hugged her and prayed for her....and we all cried (not just Annie).

| The actual goodbye. Annie was sobbing! :( |
We love you, sweet Lonah. You will ALWAYS hold a special place in our hearts. Annie will never, never forget you. And we promise to pray for you through the years!!
