The past few weeks have been rough. We are working with some new mamas. They aren't quite as interactive with us (or the babies)....and it's just not fun. The babies have been sick and fussy. Some have moved up to another room.
But Scott reminded us on Monday night (after a particularly hard day) that we aren't working there for the mamas. Or even for the babies. We are there for Jesus. To serve Him and glorify Him by what we do.
And so that means that we will go each week....fun or not....and we will love on babies. We will greet mamas and try to talk with them. We will get spit up on. We will have to clean up horribly yucky diapers. We'll smile at the mamas and ask them how their week has been. We will pull out toys for the babies to play with. We'll hold babies instead of just propping up their bottles. We'll look them in the eyes and tell them we love them and Jesus loves them.
And we'll do it for Jesus.
