Blessings 365: Day 8: Water

It is HOT in Gulu!  This afternoon the temperature was around 96° F (36° C).  I realize that's NOTHING compared to what my friend Summer lives with further north in Kitgum...but it's still HOT!!  We are so thankful for water.  Clean, delicious, cold (if the power stays on!) water!

This is an 18.7 L  bottle (that's almost 5 gallons).  It used to take our family 2-2½ days to drink this whole bottle.  Now, we drink one each day!!  That's a lot of water!  We are thankful...thankful that we can buy bottled water at a nearby store AND that it's not incredibly expensive!

Especially because 1 in 8 people on this planet don't have access to clean drinking water (visit www.charitywater.org to learn more about the water crisis and how you can help!).  Over 1 billion people drink this:

That makes us even MORE grateful for the clean water (all 5 gallons of it!) that we drink each day!

  1. How very sweet of you to mention us.

It is HOT, although I am much for adaptable this time around.

I am looking forward to finally meeting you, Lord willing soon!

    Blessings and joy,
    Summer
