Blessings 365: Day 24: Margaret's testimony

I have a friend from church named Margaret.  She is an amazing woman who loves God with all her heart and SERVES everyone around her!  She is an inspiration to us all!!

Margaret came over last week with a very exciting story that blessed me all day long (and continues to bless us all!).  There's a lady named Rita Joyce at our church who has been going to the hospital weekly to visit patients and bring them food.  Let me stop right here and tell you a little bit about hospitals in Uganda:

They are NOT like western hospitals!!  There's no cafeteria to bring you food.  There's no TV in your room.  No children's toy room for sick children to go visit.  No private rooms.   There is a big room with rows and rows of beds.  If you don't have family to bring you food...you don't eat. Oftentimes there's not even enough medicine, so sick people just lay in bed and wait....wait for medicine to come, wait for healing, or wait to die.

So Rita Joyce has been visiting each week....and the people at church have been praying about how they can minister to their fellow Ugandans.  And God led them to have MORE people visit the hospital....MORE people to bring MORE food, MORE people to visit the sick, and MORE people to pray for them!!  It's amazing!!  One of the goals is to be able to tell these sick people about Jesus and then for some of our Ugandan men to be able to follow up with them when they go back to their villages...thus telling the whole village about Jesus!!  Isn't that amazing??!!  


Well, Margaret jumped in with both feet!!  She goes up early to help cook, she stays all day visiting women...bringing them food and praying with them, she stays late to clean up AND she goes back on the weekends (walking to the hospital and back) to follow up with ladies she's been praying with/for.

Ok, now to my blessing from Jan. 24th!  Margaret came to my house to tell me about her weekend.  She went back to the hospital and someone she'd prayed for on the previous Thursday had been healed!  Praise the Lord!!  All the women wanted her to pray for them...thinking the healing had come from her.  But Margaret told me, "I remembered what Mr. Kent said...that we should not take it (the glory) on ourselves, but to give it to God."  And she reminded the ladies that it was GOD who healed the woman.  This amazing woman who loves God so much is being His hands and feet to minister to hurting and sick Ugandans!  She is sharing His love with them.  She is praying for them.  And HE is working!  What a blessing!!  

Since the 24th, 3 other people that she's prayed for have been healed and she's been able to share Jesus with each one of them!  These women can now testify about Jesus and His power to their families and their villages!
