First the older kids helped stuff the eggs....
and hide the eggs.....
while the younger ones dyed hard-boiled eggs.
The moms visited....
while the big boys relaxed in the tree away from all the excitement...
Then it was time for the egg hunt!!
So thankful for such an amazing group of kiddos....
And thankful that Benji was wearing shoes when he stepped on this thorn...
But most of all, thankful for this....

because without Him, life would be nothing! The Easter egg hunts, candy, and dyeing of eggs is fun....but it's not the REAL meaning of Easter. Good Friday wasn't good because of our Easter party....it was GOOD because of what our Savior was willing to suffer in our place.
My favorite line from Annie's Jesus Storybook Bible is this: "You see, they didn't understand. It wasn't the nails that kept Jesus there. It was love." (p. 304)
And our new Good Friday family tradition (as of last year when there was no Good Friday service to attend) is watching this video. So powerful!!

Looks like fun! So many kids, it looks like you have quite the community of mk's there. I really like that quote from the Storybook Bible. It's definantly my favorite story version of the Bible. I would read it for my own devotions!
ReplyDeleteLove that video! Wish I had seen it before Easter so we could have used it this year with the kids.
